Angela Stanford, An Angel for Kids

After the Volunteers of America North Texas Shootout Presented by JTBC, 18 most known and famous women golfers stayed in town in order to do their own volunteering. One of them is a Texas native, Angela Stanford. She was a host of her annual Let Your Light Shine Charity Golf Tournament. This tournament has been held 9 years already and it benefit the Angela Stanford Foundation.

During that time, Stanford raised more than $600.000. That money is used for scholarship for students from Texas, families affected by cancer, the Lena Pope Home and the First Tee of Fort Worth. The First Tee helps young kids through golf and The Lena Pope Home is a foster care organization. Stanford said that she always wanted to help kids. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Many people help her and Angela, so now, she want to help others as well.

Beside Stanford, Karrie Webb, Michelle Wie and Christina Kim are helping as well. In addition, Stanford announced that she is very happy because other golfers help her Foundation. She believes that many women in the LPGA have a good hearts, and they are some of the most caring people in the world. How they are good, say the fact that this foundation raised $110.000 this year. Also, this event featured playing 9 holes during the day and 9 holes during the night, in previous years. This year, it featured the full field, playing 18 holes. In the fall, the Angela Stanford Foundation will host ‘’A Night with the Stars’’ concert and dinner. They should help the foundation raise more money for scholarships.
