Charley Hull: 18 and shining

Charley Hull: 18 and shining

About a year ago Charley Hull, while still 17, won the title Rookie of the Year and now she is winning one of the big tours, the Order of Merit. She also became the youngest player to win this tour. Her first pro title was Lalla Meryem Cup, which she won back in March 2014 and since then she finished nine times in the top-10 at different competitions.

Moneywise things look good for Charley, the Order of Merit victory taking her to first place with over $315.000. This keeps her clear of Gwladys Nocera, the current 2n place holder with over $35.000. In a statement issued she said that it was very rewarding to win and she continued by praising her main competition, Gwaldys Nocera. She said that she had to be on her toes constantly so Nocera wouldn’t catch her off gourd.

Charley Hull is also the youngest player to play Solheim Cup. Even though she is currently the brightest shining star in women’s golf the competition is fierce with players like Shanshan Feng from China, Carlota Ciganda from Spain and Amy Boulden from Whales.

The game of golf is still male dominated however the equality is slowly setting in as more and more players – both male and female – are advocating this. Players like the ones mentioned before may just be tomorrow’s golf superstars. For now we should all keep an eye on Charley Hull who is the most promising of them all.
