Ko is making progress in the Race to the CME Globe

Jordan Spieth and Lydia Ko are in a virtual race. They don’t compete against each other, but these two, young professionals lead the way in the PGA and LPGA Tour. Thanks to the victory last week, at the Swinging Skirts LPGA, Ko improved her lead in the Race to the CME Globe in this season. Ko, an 18 years professional, has 2.005 points. This is 529 over Stacy Lewis and 449 points over rookie Sei Young Kim. You probably already know that the only multiple winners on the LPGA, in this season are Ko and Kim. In 8 starts, this season, Ko achieved 2 wins and 7 finishes in the top 7.

In the PGA Tour, the situation is similar. Jordan Spieth has 2.009 points and he leads Fed Ex Cup. On the second place is Jimmy Walker, with 392 points behind. Spieth has 8 finishes of 7th or better and 2 wins. One of them is the Masters Tournament. This week, Ko is at the Volunteers of America North Texas Shootout, in Dallas. The interesting fact is that Spieth, who is a Dallas native, and he lives there, will try to follow Ko’s play in San Francisco. The World Golf Championships-Cadillac Match Play will be held at the TPC Harding Park. This is across the Lake Merced and across the Lake Merced Golf Club. Ko won Swinging Skirts at this place. Both competitions will award golfers with a 600 (major victory, PGA Tour) and 625 (major victory LPGA Tour). Award for the first place is 500.
