Golf’s Governing Bodies Are In Awkward Positions Due To Trump's Remarks

The remarks made by Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump recently regarding Mexicans and immigration has put golf governing bodies in a very awkward position. Many people are keen on seeing what they are going to do following Trump’s remarks that has without a doubt ended up annoying many people including, not surprisingly, Mexicans. Below is what Trump said while kicking of his 2016 presidential campaign:

“When Mexico sends their people to the U.S. they do not send us there very best instead they are sending to U.S. people who have lots of problems,” Trump said. “This people bring in drugs to the U.S., they also bring crime, some of them are rapist and a few of those who come are actually good people.”

Following his remarks there have been numerous fallout with the biggest one being NBC. The network announced that following his remarks they will no longer be doing any business with Donald Trump and as a result they ended up pulling out Trump’s ”The Apprentice” as well as “Miss USA” and “Miss Universe”.

With other sectors taking strict measures following his remarks, the golfing world is yet to respond and they are being put under pressure so as to as also cut off ties with Donald Trump. Given the significance role he plays in the golfing world, golf-governing bodies have been put in a very awkward position as they know losing him will also mean losing his business.
