Hawaii looks better than Kapalua

After disappointing with his performance at Kapalua, Jimmy Walker made a big comeback and won in Oahu by 9 strokes. This victory makes him the first one to win a repeat at this tournament since 2004. Although this is not a major it’s still a very important win, more so after the bad representation from Kapalua.

From what Walker was heard saying after the game it’s clear to see that what actually won the game was determination. He said that he wanted to make up for Kapalua and win out the day. He continues with modesty to say that in order to accomplish that he kept putting and doing what he was supposed to do: play good golf.

He continues to say that this was indeed different to the completion he had attended the week before, in the sense that he started the game with a different mindset (to win). He also state that he had a lot of fun, but it’s more likely that this is because he eventually won. In the end he proceeded to acknowledge the people around him, his family, his coach and his trainer.

Although Kapalua is not one of the major tournaments it is invitation only and one of the favorite tournaments to play for a lot of pro golfers, including Tiger Woods. We can understand why Jimmy Walker was a disappointed in the performance and why he wanted to rebound as soon as possible. The Sony Open in Oahu was just what he needed.
