Horschel Has No Kind Words For The USGA After The U.S. Open

Horschel Has No Kind Words For The USGA After The U.S. Open

After happily finishing his U.S. Open, Billy Horschel took to the interview podium where he gave off a very wry smile and stating that, “All throughout the week I have been waiting for this particular moment.”

In the past few days there has been an increase in the number of players who have raised numerous complaints with regards to how the U.S. Open has been setup and most of the blame, unsurprisingly has been put on the Chambers bay. That said, there is one player who has been very vocal in his criticism and that is Horschel. When he took to the podium on Sunday, Horschel gave out some intense negative comments stating that he had completely lost his respect for the USGA.

“To be honest, I no longer have respect for the USGA after this week,” he said. According to the player should have done better in making sure that the venue for the U.S. Open was in good condition or better yet stage in a different location all together.

“I have managed to hit some very good putts all over the world and have bounce. So it’s very frustrating,” he said. “Today I really played some good golf and I really do believe that I should have finished off with 6 or 7 or even 8 under but that wasn’t the case because some of the putts I hit today unfortunately hit some very bad spots and as a result they never went in.”

It is evident that many players were not impressed with the USGA and it is very likely that many of them will turn up in coming days so as to agree with the remarks made by Horschel.
