Houston Open

Houston Open

JB Holmes, an American professional golfer, won his 4th PGA Tour victory. He won it, at the Houston Open in Humble, Texas, with a play-off. Holmes started his 6th day at the 18th place, but he managed 7 birdies in his first 8 holes. This 32 year old golfer was world’s number 20. Holmes shot a magnificent 64 for a 16 under total, matched by Johnson Wagner and Jordan Spieth. Paul Casey (England) was 9th. He had 4 shots after a 1 under 71. Phil Mickelson was 17th.

After the tournament, Holmes announced that he had to play low round and it was great. Mickelson, a 5 time winner, attempted to play out of the lake along the left side of the 18th. He wasn’t able to move his ball, so he ended seven drifts of JB Holmes, with a double bogey 6. Holmes’s lowest final round contained 9 one putts. He really mastered the conditions at the Golf Club of Houston, despite there weren’t very good.

Wagner, who was a champion in 2008, and who lost his full-time PGA Tour privileges, shot an 87 at last week on the Texas Open. He holed from 25feet to birdie. Spieth (world’s number 4) reached16 under with birdies from the 13th. Sadly, at the first play-off hole, his ball landed on a slope near water, so he played from a bunker, which resulted as a bogey.

After the tournament, Houston Open final Leaderboard looks like: -16 JB Holmes, J Wagner, J Spieth, -14 R Henley, -13B de Jonge, K Bradley, C Tringale, C Howell III, -12 P Casey and selected others -9.
