Kristen Gilman makes her second start in the LPGA

Many high school juniors are focusing on buying a dress for prom night and on a date for that event. Kristen Gillman isn’t one of them. Instead of ordinary things, she is preparing for the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic. This is going to be second LPGA start. According to experts, this Austin, Texas native should have a successful career. Gilman made her LPGA debut, last year, at the Evian Championship. This 16 year old amateur golfer shot 74-78 to miss the cut. But, now, she said that she learned many new and important lessons that will be useful for the tournament in San Francisco.

One of the things she learned is to stay focused on her own game. Beside she wants to win this week, even more important is to learn as much as she can about golf and her game. All of this will be needed, in order to improve her game. As every high school kid, she is enjoying in her week off school. But instead of resting or partying, she is practicing. She is having practice rounds alongside Sandra Gal and Alison Lee on Monday and Tuesday.  For Gilman, the best what happened to her this week, was the interview with Fox Sport for the new U.S. Women’s Open coverage. She got the chance to be interviewed thanks to her win last summer, at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship. She battled 2-down after 18 holes. She defeated Brooke M. Henderson by making birdie on 4 and last 7 holes. The interesting thing is that those two golfers will meet again, this week.
