Lee Ends Up Missing Out On The Playoffs Following Penalty & Putter

Come on Sunday, Danny Lee should have been 3 under par through 3-holes during the weekend’s John Deere Classic. He ended up missing a putt that was 8-foot for a birdie on number 1. He then 3-putted from 14 feet and ended up with a par on number 2. If that wasn’t tough enough, he ended up missing another 16 feet birdie on number 3. All his moves for the day ended up costing him a spot in an eventful playoff.

While addressing the media following her not so good day at work, Danny Lee stated what many already knew and that is the fact that he did not have a good day.

“The whole day yesterday what I was focusing on most was basically lift, clean and place,” said Lee. He then went on further and stated that, “Without even thinking it through, I ended up teeing behind my ball and picking it up. My caddie at that particular time kept on saying, ‘Today it’s not lift, clean and place’ and I was like oh wow.”

During the event, Lee ended up receiving a one-stroke penalty. Then hurs later, Lee ended up turning a four-under 67 that should actually been a 5 under 66.

Before getting into the tournament, last week Lee ended up picking his first ever PGA Tour victory and as a result he was looking at becoming the first ever player to actually win in back to back weeks.
