Maximilian Leads The Rest At The French Open

Maximilian Leads The Rest At The French Open

The French Open is once again here with us and with it came a number of great golfers who were ready to take up the field, that said, the first day of the day belonged to non-other than Maximilian Kieffer thanks to his brilliant performance.

By the end of the day, Kieffer, who is a German born golfer, was on top of the standings with a 4 under par with four holes still yet to be played. It's good to not that the first day of the French Open was forced to end early due to a freakish thunderstorm that ended up rocking the course late afternoon. The thunderstorm made playing at the French Open very difficult and despite the efforts put by the organizers to see that event goes on, it just couldn’t work.

Other notable golfers who ended up having an interesting day at the first round of the French Open include Jaco Van Zyl, Bernd Wiesberger and Victor Dubuisson. All three golfers ended up finishing their first rounds with 3-under 68. Andrew Dobt as well as Rafa Cabrera were tied at the same score while still having one hole left.

Last year’s French Open champion Graeme McDowell ended up finishing the day 1 over after playing 17 holes. One thing to note about McDowell is that if he goes on to win the French Open this year, then he would have won it for three years in a row.
